Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)
Taylor Primary provides a positive, safe and supportive learning environment that sets clear expectations for student behaviour through the evidence-based framework of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and its values of “safe, respectful, responsible, learners”.
All staff are members of the PBL team with the school leadership providing guidance. A shared understanding of these values is promoted in whole school and classroom environments with visible posters of these expectations.
At the beginning of each year, teachers and students co-construct expectations about being a safe, respectful, responsible learner for their classroom. These behaviours are explicitly taught through authentic, student centred learning including through programs such as Friendly Schools.
Students are awarded “Muliyans” for demonstrating these behaviours around the school. Awards are granted based on the following table.
